Original Recipe French Toast
Serves: 4

Ingredients

* 4 (1-inch) thick slices King’s Hawaiian® Original Hawaiian Sweet Round Bread
* 4 large eggs
* 1/2 cup milk
* 1/2 tsp. vanilla
* 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
* Butter or oil for frying
* Maple syrup

Preparation
1. Slice bread crosswise so that each slice is about 1-inch thick. Cut larger slices into halves or thirds, if desired. Set aside.
2. In a shallow mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon.
3. Quickly dip slices (do not soak) in egg mixture and cook until golden brown on both sides.
4. Keep egg mixture stirred and spices well blended.
5. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with warm maple syrup.

Ham and Swiss Florentine Bake
Serves: 12

Ingredients

* 1 (16 oz.) loaf King’s Hawaiian® Original Hawaiian Sweet Round Sweet Bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
* 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
* 2 medium onions, chopped (1 cup)
* 1 lb. ham, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
* 5 large eggs
* 4 cups milk
* 1 tsp. salt
* 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
* 1 (6 oz.) package baby spinach
* 12 oz. shredded Swiss cheese (3 cups)

Preparation
1. Bake bread cubes on baking sheet with a lip in preheated 200° F oven for 30 minutes stirring once.
2. Meanwhile, heat oil in skillet, sauté onions on medium heat 15 minutes, add ham. Continue to cook until onions are well browned.
3. Whisk together eggs, milk and seasonings.
4. Place half of dried cubes into greased 9x13x2-inch pan.
5. Top with half of spinach, meat mixture, egg mixture then cheese. Repeat.
6. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
7. Bake covered in a preheated 325° F oven for 55 minutes.
8. Remove foil and bake another 10-15 minutes, or until knife comes out clean when inserted in center.
9. Let sit 10 minutes before serving.
