Boston Warehouse Animal House Owl Salt Grinder

Boston Warehouse Animal House Owl Salt Grinder

Owls are well known for being wise; they are also famous for being able to turn their heads around almost in a full circle. The Boston Warehouse Animal House Owl Salt Grinder understands both of these properties.

Although it is labeled a salt grinder, it would probably work just as well for peppercorns. And as everybody who is wise knows, freshly-ground pepper is vastly superior to that powdered stuff that comes in a shaker. To use, just twist to grind for fresh spices; and no worries, this little owl can turn its head all the way around!

How to fill grinders -- Open the Boston Warehouse Animal House Owl Salt Grinder.

1. Turn owl upside down.
2. Unscrew the white knob counter clockwise until it comes off.
3. Tip owl over so the white ceramic grinder comes out. Do not loose! (sic)
4. You can pour your salt/pepper into the hole. You may need to shake the grinder slightly as you do this to make sure the salt and pepper settle evenly.
5. Replace the white ceramic grinder.
6. Replace the white knob by screwing it on clockwise. There is a spring attached to it, so you will need to press down while you turn until the threads of the screw line up.
7. Enjoy!

  1. Check out the awesome update above — directions on how to open came from Boston Warehouse.

  2. Check out the steps numbered 1 through 7 above and click the link above for a nice big image.

  3. The directions above are incorrect. You HAVE TO take the screws out if you want to get the pepper in, otherwise you will have to put the peppercorns in one at a time and push them down with something small.

  4. These are so cute and so badly designed. I have to individually poke each peppercorn through the hole, past the spring. It’s ridiculous. I have tried taking the ring out by removing the 2 little screws and I haven’t been able to get it out. What idiot designed these??

  5. The folks above are correct. these are very poorly designed. pink salt is quite coarse and cannot fit into opening provided.
