Hoot! Hoot! Tag Nesting Owl Measuring Cups

Tag Nesting Owl Measuring Cups With Lid

Owls are so wise. What other animals know how to measure ingredients? (Well, besides these similarly-styled Nesting Pig Measuring Cups.) With the Tag Nesting Owl Measuring Cups With Lid there’s no need to look around the kitchen for a helper — just ask the owls!

The set of five measuring cups nest inside each other for storage and are made of hand-painted earthenware complete with embossed detail. A word to the wise (harhar): That big guy in the back is a cookie jar, sold separately.

Check ’em out:

Snail Funnel Does Your Kitchen Tasks — Slowly

DCI Snail Funnel

Every kitchen needs a funnel, but not every kitchen needs snails. However, that doesn’t mean the two can’t get along. In fact if you put them together you get the DCI Snail Funnel!

The collapsible snail funnel is a fun way to go about many kitchen tasks — albeit very slowly. Perfect for pouring honey or molasses into small jars or otherwise, the fun kitchen tools could probably even be used with faster pouring ingredients — just don’t add salt.

Take Disney’s Star Wars R2-D2 And C-3PO To Lunch

Star Wars R2-D2 C-3PO Tin Dome Lunch Box Workman Carry All Lunchbox

Now that Disney owns the Star Wars franchise, we will probably be seeing a bunch of new toys and collectables featuring the well-known characters — along with other characters under the massive Disney umbrella.

Expect to see forthcoming Star Wars merch with Space Mickey peeking out from behind some space rocks. Perhaps Princess Leia will find a home in Sleeping Beauty Castle. I wonder how they’ll work in poor Pluto…

As the Grand Marshals now and forever of any Main Street Electrical Parade, R2-D2 and C-3PO deserve their moment in the spotlight. The Star Wars – R2D2 & CP30 – New Tin Dome Lunch Box honors the mechanical men in a classic pre-Disney setting. There may not be any Disneyland park mascots on the lunchbox now, but just like how George Lucas re-invented the past, we should be seeing Captain EO flying in any time now…

Hey California: Vote Yes On 37?

Yes on Prop 37

Yes.

This proposition would require food manufacturers to label genetically modified foods.
That’s it. This is only about labeling food.

Here’s why I am voting yes on Proposition 37.

1. I don’t know enough about GMO foods. You don’t either.
2. You are what you eat.
3. Imagine purchasing food without a list of ingredients. This is a turning point, folks.
4. Again, all this proposition does is make it so food is properly labeled. Honestly, this should have happened long ago.

Direct from the Official Voter Information Guide:

A YES vote on this measure means: Genetically engineered foods sold in California would have to be specifically labeled as being genetically engineered.

It’s really that simple. Yes on 37.

CARightToKnow.org

UPDATE 11/7/12: Well, it looks like Big Food won this round by scaring everybody into thinking this would lead to higher food prices. Prop 37 was defeated 53% to 47%.

Too bad. If this line of reasoning made sense we would never see the words “New look — Same great taste!” slapped across package design. Labeling products simply would not have been an expensive undertaking.

However, GMO foods are not going away anytime soon. It’s a pretty good bet this consumer rights issue isn’t going away anytime soon either. Stay tuned.
